Snæfellsjökulormurinn
$20,500.00

This year I have traveled across the country in search of clay and other earthly materials. Each place holds unique forces and substances shaped by the interplay of environment, time, and pressure. Clearly, powerful spirits dwell throughout the land.

The Snæfellsjökullormurinn (The serpent of Snæfellsjökull) emerges from a landscape where glacier and volcano meet. There, pumice and clay have formed through the remarkable recrystallization of silica. From these materials, a glaze can be created to envelop the sculpture. The serpent was brought into being during a residency at Arctic Canvas, beneath Snæfellsjökull, in May 2025.

The sculpture is a wall piece. It is around 17 cm tall, 12cm wide and 10cm standing out from the wall.
